gottalottaibu (242), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Dec 17, 2007 dirty rose color with a few bubbles but no head. sour funked cherry aroma. sourness sucks in your cheeks at first. a bit of dankness in it as well. nice drying finish. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Dec 14, 2007 Aroma of sour cherry. Perhaps something lactic. Beautiful ruby color with a non-retentive head. Thin to medium body with mild carbonation. The flavor starts sour, but there is some cherry. The lactic aspect continues, puckers the mouth a bit, persists. Typical semi-funky lambic. Pretty damn tasty. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Dec 13, 2007 Green-glassed, capped and corked bottle. Loud cork pop! Sour, cherry-filled and slightly metallic aroma, dark and heavy. Tart! Burgundy-pink-strawberry-colored pour with a pink-tinged short head. Taste is tart and sour and sharply acidic, sweet cherries rather than sour. Really robust and mouth-puckering, drenched with woody tones and leather. Not as drinkable as some of the krieks I’ve recently had, owing to its acidity, but then again, its cherry juice flavor is somewhat distinctive and its tartness is still delicious. Complex and mature.Note the standard deviation (0.6 is high on this site) - some greatly differing opinions here. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Dec 12, 2007 Beautiful dark, red-golden and the aroma is moulded, dusty with notes of barnyard, berries and the flavour is very sour with notes of barnyard, berries, sourness and a long dry finish. AmazonMatt (284), Panama Nov 29, 2007 Wow. One of the weirder beers that I’ve had in a while (I guess an understatement here in Panama. I love lambics, but this was a little different than the typical. It was sour and the barnyard in the background is a bit too strong. But I think that this is intentional. And we didn’t store it very well from its trip from Alaska to Panama and then 7 months in the freezer. Aroma, typical kriek with a barnyard hint. Taste starts sweet and ends with with vinegary sour, with some leather, barnyard and mineral accents (over-accents). I’d like to try again, just so see how typical this rather odd taste is. LinusStick (1831), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 25, 2007 Wow...so close to perfection...and I thought their gueuze was good. Aroma was delicious. Strong sour cherry with a bit of vinegar. Pour was a nice dark brown with a 2 finger tan head. Taste was mouth puckering. Sour cherry, vinegar and a nice funkiness that stayed in the mouth for well after each sip. Awesome! dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 24, 2007 Bottled. My first gueuze lambic, I should probably try a few more before I rate this one. At any rate, I will return to this one. I get some candied apple mixed with sour cherry in the nose. Sour apple with some serious acid with some sweet cherry on the finish. Touch of vinegar. Not as complex as I had hoped.
