| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2009 From a 375ml with no carbonation. Stinging sour cherry on the nose with a tinge of funk and alcohol. Taste of sour sour cherry and funk that makes you smile. Exactly what you expect from a kriek...sans carbonation, if it had more of that delicious missing element I would have rated this higher. rabidbarfly (57), London, England

Flavour is eye watering sour cherries.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Pours a pinkish peach with no head. Aroma is primarily that of sour cherries with some underlying earthy notes. Taste is fizzy and when the bubbles disappear, a sweet-tart taste of red fruits. It lives up to what it’s meant to be--a sour cherry beer. wimpie133 (161), Brugge, Belgium
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Bottle, 37,5 cl. Maybe it is because I didn’t store the bottle like a gueuze, but this "Oude Kriek" (the first one I drunk) was not totally as I expected. The colour is light red to pink with only a small pink head disappearing soon. The aroma was sour, one of lambic, and sweet, the cherries used. And strong. Not bad, but also not that special. The first gulps it is like a delight that you don’t drink an artificial sweet cherry-flavoured beer, but a real sour beer with a good cherry-taste. But to my opinion this one is too sour and too monotone, with the result the cherries don’t come very well to their right. Only at the end the cherry-taste becomes stronger, but with the yeast at the end the last gulps were not that nice to drink. I surely will drink this one again, if only to rerate it, but this time with the bottle stored correctly, like a gueuze. kopher (297), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2009 thin maroon with thin pinkish head. sharp fruity aroma, like very sour raspberry with some woody dryness.
sweet fruity flavor -- too sweet. mostly cherries, even slightly syrupy (in flavor, not texture).
medium-thin texture and sharp sourness keep it from being cloying. there’s a bit of dryness behind the cherries. lost of citrus. floydian1 (275), FNQ, Australia
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2009 37.5cl corked heavy green bottle with an expiry year of 2027. Pours cloudy dark red with a small but stable white head. Nose of sour lemons, cherries and that geuze-type yeast aroma. Tastes great with a sharp tartness to begin with progressing to a subtle cherry sweetness and a nice dry gently sour finish. Fullish mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation. Nice.
