hobgoblin (163), St-Épiphane, Quebec, Canada Oct 13, 2006 Bottle. Deep red y color and a thin white head. Aroma of cherry and sour. The taste is very sour, distand sour cherry and red wine. Taste mostly like other kriek i drank so far .
Pours deep orange/light amber with white wispy head. Offensive rotten sweet aroma. Stonger on the palate with ridiculously sour taste. This overpowers any hope of recognizing most of anything except a faint hint of cherries. Not that good. Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada Oct 8, 2006 Robe rose foncée voilée surmontée d’une mince mousse blanche. Arômes de cerises et d’épices. Saveurs acides et sures de cerises et de houblon amérisant. jacobwennbom (274), Uppsala, Sweden Oct 6, 2006 I am so sorry, but this is not very tasty. Looks great (reddish copper) but it’s extremely sour (meaning lots of acidity). Distant cherry taste and very carbonated. Sort of funky smell (reminds me horse droppings). If I would say one thing that this tastes like it would be carbonated rasberry vinegar. Again: Sorry! I’d love to like this but I can’t. It’s just too vile. I suppose this is ment to be served as apertiffe but I don’t think I would like as that neither. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 1, 2006 Updated: May 10, 2007First rating (37.5 cl bottle from Swedish Systembolaget) Brownish color, white head. Strong sour scent, some horse droppings. Very sour taste. No bitterness. Acid, but nice, aftertste. Unusually high level of CO2 for this type of beer. 6/3/7/3/14=3.3
Second rating. (Bottle at The Rover, Göteborg) Shady copper color, small white head. Extreme acidic scent with some sweet cherries. Acidic and marzipan taste, sour aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2 MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Oct 1, 2006 A Mes rate: 37.5cl bottle at St. Albans Beer Festival 2006. Quite surprsied to find this is a new rate for me having had it quite a few times before. Salty old cherries and spice in the aroma. Not overly horsey horsey but its obviously there. Great colour, light brown with a pinkish hue and a slight white head. Very dry. Wonderfully prickly palate. Obvious cherry and a little sweeter than most but not at all syrupy. Unusual lick of chocolate too. Quite spicy and herbacious along the lines of a Liefmans Lriek. More spice for the finish which is wonderfully sour and very dry. A great palate clearer as all lambics should be. I have had much better but stand alone it’s still a jolly good beer. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 28, 2006 Pale red color with a thin white foam. Lots of fruty and sour notes. Light body with a very dry finish. Schultsc (478), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 17, 2006 Beautiful pale garnet color with burnt orange highlights and a thin pink head. Funky nose-tingling lambic sourness in the aroma with light pickled berry fruit notes. Distant sour cherry flavors behind the rollicking lambic yeast profile. Gives a slight impression of sweetness without it actually being there. It’s very dry and crisp and and finishes with a touch of stone fruit bitterness. Light body with an extremely agile mouthfeel. Aggressive, bracing tartness that nearly stings and lasts and lasts.
