Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Apr 23, 2006 Sampled at Zythos. Light red color with a small head. Solid tart taste with hardly any sweetness. Sampled with Hanssens jelly that made the pairing very tasty. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Apr 21, 2006 Aroma is great, quite cherry, lemons, a bit of clove? Very sour, but I’m beginning to like the true lambics.
First rate 5,4,6,2,13. Really smells like a Flemish sour but with a little ammonia or vinegar throw in - very odd aroma. Equally odd taste. Sour for sure, but not in the same was as a Flemish. very funky, has the cherry in it, but is not easy to drink. Funky is the only word that can describe this. Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Apr 10, 2006 Bottled Brugs de’ Beertje 04-11-05. The fourth of my trip into the mysterious world of Acid beers. The fantastic bar lady in this bar seem’s so chuffed that I am continuing with these beers and tells me that this one is made with real cherries unlike many other’s that have flavouring and syrups added. This is a belter and the best thus far. Hazy amber colour small white head. Again their is a initial sharpness but for the first time I find this tempered but a little more sweetness and I like that balance. Wonderful cherry taste and this one like the others get’s better with each sip once your tongue has become accustomed to the tartness, very, very good.
