Commercial Description:
This is the result of blending black cherries lambic of different ages followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. Storage is similar like geuze. All bottles are champagne corked and can be reserved, in normal conditions, for more than thirty years. It is obvious that an amazing taste evolution takes place.

Thanks to TheCheeseMan! Pours an orangish-red color with a thin white head. Aroma is very tart cherries, wood, sour. Taste is the same. Great sourness!

Bottled sample. Bright pinkish red in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of sweet cherry, lemon, and a bit of wood. More sweet cherry and lemon in the mouth, along with a funky cream cheese finish. Fairly light bodied with a fair bit of sourness. Not overly complex or concentrated, but fairly drinkable nonetheless.

Color between pink and red, depends on the angle. Not much head. Aroma is only kissed with cherry, most of the character is the tart citrus and wood of Hanssens classic geuze. The lemon juice notes from the geuze combined with the cherry become more of a grapefruit. Diggin’ it.

looks like a glass of prune juice that screams your gonna take good hot s**T later. Very very funky bretty sour aromas lots of sour cherries in the taste with the same wild crazy flavors that you get in the nose takes a long time to drink because there is so much going on ih the flavor and aroma a litte vinegar puckering in the end great for a change

Bottle sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk. Pours a cloudy red with a small light pink head. Aroma and flavor is quite tart and funky and sour. Some sweet cherry, maybe some fish (?), and acidic notes. Pretty good but a little acidic and there was something odd about it that I couldn’t pin down.

Bottle from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of funked up cherries. Flavor of wood, acidic cherries, bretty cherries, just marvelously classic. No bells and whistles, but so fantastic.

375 ml bottle. Clear, dark red body with a thin, disappearing head. Aroma is an acidic sour, cellar note and cherry. Flavor is sour, acidic, cherry and dry, bitter wood. Very dry finish.

Ruby red color and cloudy with a good sized white head. Aroma is sour and fruity. Taste is of tart cherries fresh off the tree that mellows to a soft sweet cherry taste. Dry and delicious.
