Commercial Description:
This is the result of blending black cherries lambic of different ages followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. Storage is similar like geuze. All bottles are champagne corked and can be reserved, in normal conditions, for more than thirty years. It is obvious that an amazing taste evolution takes place.

The aroma is sweet cherries with notes of wood. The color is a clear red-brown and it has next to no head. The flavor is very acidic with slight notes of cherries, metal, and wood. The end is very acidic and the mouthfeel is very dry.

(Bottle 37,5 cl) Simply called "Hanssens Kriek" at 5% ABV. No label on the bottle. The fruit flies had found this beer before me - hundreds of them were buzzing around the slightly leaky bottles in the drinks shop- They for sure liked this beer.
Reddish brown and very flat. Extremely sour, vinegary nose making your nostrils contract almost completely. The cherries do however leave a slight hint of sweetness on your tongue. Quite an exceptional experience, but one I could’ve done without. 110700

(Bottle 37,5 cl) As "Hanssens Oude Kriek". I reckon this in principle is the same beer as the above, but not a bit stronger - and with a label.
More red than brown, small head with a pinkisk tint. Even some carbonation. Still a very sour Kriek, but not quite as extreme as the old version. 110700

Bottled. Pale red. Nutty sweetish cherry aroma. Clean mouthfeel, less lively and sparkling than their regular gueuze. Woody and ashy, with some sweetness to balance the heavy acidity. A good kriek, no doubt, but lacks something to make it really great.

37.5 cL bottle, trade with BelJohansen. Pours hazy to murky pink to red with a lacing off-white head. Dry sulphorish cherry aroma. Solid dry acidic flavour with a lot of citric impressions following. Nice fruity cherry flavour throughout. Goes into a dry, slight wooden and quite citric cherry finish. Nicely thirst quencing.

Bottled. Deep red colour with small brownish hints. Small head. Cherry in aroma, kind of bitterish. Dry bitter cherry in flavour. A bit alcohol in flavour too, very dry aftertaste.

Bottle. Sour aroma. Very slight hint of cherry. Nice red and a little cloudy colour, small white head. Acidic flavour with a little cherry. Acidity cuts my throat a bit.

Bottled. Red coloured with a small pink head. Acidic aroma of wood and lactic acid. Acidic flavour of wood, cherries and vinegar. Too acidic for my liking.
