Commercial Description:
This is the result of blending black cherries lambic of different ages followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. Storage is similar like geuze. All bottles are champagne corked and can be reserved, in normal conditions, for more than thirty years. It is obvious that an amazing taste evolution takes place.

Bottle. Beautiful ruby amber colour, no head. Fruity and cidery with clear woddy notes, and some spices. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation. Very refreshing with a light sweetness that mixes well with a firm acidity.

375 mL bottle from Market Street Wine Shop & Grocery, Downtown, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy strawberry color, or should I say cherry? Medium cream off-white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is tart cherries, an earthy funkiness, berries and citrus. Taste is tart cherry pie filling, slight herbal notes, raspberries and strawberries, citrus. Very tart throughout with a bit of residual sugary sweetness. Medium bodied. Tasty.

Another treat by the beer geek members of your wedding party: JoeT and Arnoud - nice. Nice acidic, cherry aroma also honey. Thick brew light brown sticky on the glass. Kind of stale but ok with a nice cherry, berry and medium sour taste. Dry and chalky with a metallic finish.

2nd annual Valentine's day special - Chocolate covered strawberries served with Kriek - Ah, yes, a perfect combination! Dark cherry body, pink head and lacing. Compared to the Beersel I had a few days ago in the Chatroom tasting, this one is a little sweeter. But, it's got a whole lot of wildness to it, too. The aroma is very "outdoors" - like walking thru a damp forest. Besides the sweet cherry flavor, you get the skins and pits, oak, light sourness, and a wild acidic bite, especially at the back of the throat. Great stuff.

Tasted at Holiday Wine Cellar. Clear deep red with slight white head. Aroma of red wine vinegar. Very tangy bright palate. Intense sour taste with a lingering sourness in the finish.

This kriek pours with an amber body topped by a thin head with little lacing. The aroma is a touch sweet and very tart with a touch of cherry and a good oakey note. The flavor is slightly sweet but very tart with an odd mustiness, notes of oak and a bit of cherry. Light to medium bodied and very dry.

Pours a lightly hazy, blood red body. A minimal, wispy, pure white film blankets the top, accompanied by a small rim. Virtually no lacing noted. Looks very nice. Sour cherries, citric acids, farmhouse yeast, and horseblanket meld wonderfully on the nose, instantly inducing pangs of thirst. The first sip brings sweet and sour black cherries, tart raspberries, and a bevy of citrus juices. Earthy minerals emerge, combining well with funky farmhouse yeast. The greatest thing about this one is that there’s a sufficient amount of sweet cherry to counteract the intense sourness. Its near perfectly balanced in this regard. Finishes very dry and funky. Medium bodied and easy drinking. Awesome brew. I think I might have just found my new go-to session lambic.

375ml, pours clear blood red with very small white head around the rim. nose has oak, sour cherries, cinnamon, vinegar, peanut brittle, perfume, and sour notes. very pungent nose. flavor is pretty astringent and acidic, oaky, musty, very sour and sweet cherries. i think i might prefer this with 5+ years of age because at this point it’s too acidic. tasty but lacks the delicacy of a fine lambic.
