COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the result of blending black cherries lambic of different ages followed by a second fermentation in the bottle. Storage is similar like geuze. All bottles are champagne corked and can be reserved, in normal conditions, for more than thirty years. It is obvious that an amazing taste evolution takes place.

Bottle (75cl): going to take me a long while to get used to this style. As a winemaker this has almost everything I try to avoid. I suspect this is what the style should look like so Iíve taken it easy in my scoring. Red brown color. Cloudy and no head. There is a light spritz. Aromatics take the cake. Volatile, slightly mould, must, old oak. Maybe a hint of decomposing fruit. Dry, extremely sour and no bitterness. Medium light palate. Long acid finish. Mousey and dirty. Very old world. Technically this is faulty and crap. Iíll come back and score again when I have more experience. For the moment it hurts to give this score.

Huge thanks heavy! Shared with him & some others. Ruby red body with a tiny white head. Dry, classic lambic aroma, sour, dry, funk, hay. No fruit in the aroma. Similar in the taste, sour, dry, funky, some hay, with a fruity touch that ends up more like a feeling than a taste, whatever flavors there were were long eaten up I guess. Blind, I doubt most people would identify it as a fruit lambic. Light plastic, some clove & pepper. Eh, this is a solid lambic, but falls short compared to the superb Oude Gueuze.

Bottle. Nose is funky, farmyard, hint of wee, cherry, cheese, fantastic. Taste is cherry, farmyard, sour, cheese, more rich dark cherry, vinegar, balsamic, oak, wood lemon juice, leather, cranberry. Mouthfeel is flat, and light. This an outstanding fruit lambic; no sugar fruit juice here, rather a refreshing, sour and dry beer which has a lovely dark cherry character.

375ml bottle kindly shared by bartlebier, thanks for the nice refresher after a hot day. Intense dark blueish red colour with almost no head. Aroma and taste are sour cherries, star anise, a little bit of cinnamon, mould and loads of funk/sourness. One of the sourest fruit bombs I had, almost like a cherrie sauce to pair with waffles and a nice light fizzy mouthfeel. Love the huge amount of funk and sourness, great!

33cl bottle at home (13 II 2016), shared with the Meetjeslandse Bierproevers. This is one of my favoute old krieks, way less lambic styled as for example the Boon brews. It has an unbelievable good scent. The taste is like a young Cote du Rhone wine, with lots of sweet sour notes. The body is fairly heavy with a massive wood character. Sour wine and sour grapes are omnipresent, in combination with sour red berries (red currants). What a nose, what a body, what a character!
