Surprisingly zingy tart-sourness, with elements of catty bile and vinegar. I actually like those things, when done right. Had a quenchy zip to it, too. Sharp and cutting, yet tasty. Funky nose of musty oak, rhubarb, sulfur, rose petals, and perfumey brett. Fuzzy effervescence. Surprisingly balanced flavors of medicine-splashed cherries and harsh minerals. Deceptively dry and acidic. Sound matchstick and brett foundation adds firm touches to the body, releasing the more-robust Lambic-y qualities. Soft, syrupy body, bandage esters, and moist prunes briefly suspend the zingy acidity. Gains a staunchly grainy, musty cedar backing, midway. Relatively sweet overtones of almond and cherry coat the palate, teeth and all, and revive the acidity. Tartness stops just shy of peaking, though. Out of nowhere, comes an explosively bright crescendo of lip-smacking black cherry goodness anchored by grainy oak firmness, pale malt hulls, and muted tartness. Such a lovely Lambic, even though it’s hindered by the medicinal sweetness and heavy body which largely overshadow the acidity, dryness, and cherry elegance. Best when heavily chilled, as it exaggerates the dryness and tartness. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA

Nose is sour cherries and a hint of funky cheesiness. Flavor starts sweet with the sour cherry hitting midway ending with a dry, slightly astringent funkiness. Delicious. Just a bit of sweet cherry. Tart flavor with a bit of earthy yeastiness and some wood. Cherries and a bit of sweetness on the finish, but otherwise it’s a great tartness. Great palate cleanser.
