3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
375ml bottle. Aroma of cherries and tart. Very tart taste, cherry but almost medicinally. Smooth without very much weird off flavors. Quite good but lacking some carbonation and depth.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12.7oz bottle, split with brew3crew and alexsdad06. Pours a nice clear dark red color. Couple bubbles, no head or lace. Lightly tart nose, some cherry in there. Medium to bigger body. Very light carbonation. Moderate sour taste, and sweet in the finish. Not as puckering as, say, the Bruery Sour in the Rye I had earlier this evening. Without the intense sourness that I was expecting, the natural cherry flavor is allowed to shine a bit more, which is nice. Sticky viscosity in the finish. Nearly no carbonation, but still a tasty kriek. Great natural cherry flavor. $20 was steep, though -- would have passed if I wasn’t able to split the cost

Bottle from George Keeleys.. Pour is cherry red,.. reminiscent of a cabernet sauvignon.. no head. Smell is vinous..oak, heavy cherry, vinegar. Taste is sour cherry, very sweet, lasting cherry jolly rancher, secret finish. Mouthfeel is light and vinous. Overall a decent sour.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12.7 oz corked and caged green bottle. I see no vintage; the price tag on it says it came in to Enoteca in April of 2012, so it’s probably a 2011 vintage, but who knows? Pours cloudy ruby-red with a quickly-collapsing pink-white head; leaves a ring of big-bubbly foam. Aroma consists of cherries, cherry pits/almonds; nice-smelling, although not quite as assertive as the Cantillon I drank before this. Taste is much more sour and acidic than the Cantillon; lots of cherry flavor. Carbonation is almost flat, finishes dry. Overall, I liked the Cantillon better; it was better in every category, from aroma to palate, but the carbonation was the real clincher--the lack of bubbles made this one especially inferior to my tastes. Still, this is not bad at all--I probably would’ve rated it higher had I not just drank the Cantillon before this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Courtesy of Ann. Blood/purple pour with no head. Aroma is a mix of staleness. Taste is very sour, bordering on vinegar. Very flat, wine like. Old musty flavor is dominant. Not sure if this bottle was mishandled or if this is the batch.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
375ml bottle that my cousin scored for $11 which is surely a misprice. Blood red color and no head whatsoever. Aroma is thick cherries. Flavor is solid cherries both sour cherries and a cherry pie flavor. Oddly no funk and almost no tartness according to my tongue. Overall a very fruity kriek but this is no better than a regular hanssens kriek with polish cherries and I didn’t really pickup any cinnamon notes that supposedly come along with the schaerbeekse cherries. This beer is certainly not worth the normal $23 price tag and frankly isn’t worth half the price tag.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Winooski beverage warehouse. Pours a hazy purple red pour with no head. Aroma is not particularly reminiscent of cherries, I get a lot of orange zest, blueberry, strawberry and funk myself. Taste is also very blueberry skin, quite tanic, light grapes, lots of citrus, particularly orange, acidic, light vinegar, quite interesting, everything but cherry. Palate is very flat, acidic and bone dry. Not stellar, but a very interesting beer that is fun to explore. Not worth it’s very hefty pricetag.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Dark clear cherry red pour with no particular head at all. Delicious intense dark cherry flavors. Full syrupy wonderment. Really surprised. Loved quite a lot. Clean sour cherries aged to perfection. Good balance of sour over sweet. Simple yet smooth and complex. Fantastic!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep red color lambic with a small bubbly head with no retention or lacing. Aroma of tart notes of cherry with loads of barnyard notes. Taste is also dominated by tart notes of cherries though not as much sour notes or acidity as I was expecting. There is quite a bit of barnyard notes with some funky notes. Body is full with limited filtration and almost no carbonation. Interesting though not something I would need to have on a regular basis.
