3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12.7 oz corked and caged green bottle. I see no vintage; the price tag on it says it came in to Enoteca in April of 2012, so it’s probably a 2011 vintage, but who knows? Pours cloudy ruby-red with a quickly-collapsing pink-white head; leaves a ring of big-bubbly foam. Aroma consists of cherries, cherry pits/almonds; nice-smelling, although not quite as assertive as the Cantillon I drank before this. Taste is much more sour and acidic than the Cantillon; lots of cherry flavor. Carbonation is almost flat, finishes dry. Overall, I liked the Cantillon better; it was better in every category, from aroma to palate, but the carbonation was the real clincher--the lack of bubbles made this one especially inferior to my tastes. Still, this is not bad at all--I probably would’ve rated it higher had I not just drank the Cantillon before this.

Pours a bright bright cherry color. Sour tart flavor. Very pure cherry flavors blend well here. So dry. So good. The perfect style. Very sour. Very quenching. Very good beer. Always a fan of the brewery and this quality has come to be expected.

There are so few reviews of this beer because it runs $25 on shelves for a 375ML. I buy it when I can. Finall took notes at Fuj’s epic Gueuzapalooza fest last weekend aside other Schaerbeek cherry lambics. Dark blood red appearance. Nose is gigantic. So much fruitiness, jammy with a touch of funk. This beer stands out among the rest, even beside LP Kriek. The 3F Schaerbeek Krek wins hands down but this is a close second. Lots of cherry, oak and woody funk. wet hay with tight cherry jelly.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From notes. Enjoyed at the Ashley’s Rare & Vintage Beer TasteFest on June 07. Vintage 2011. The pour is a beautiful light ruby color with a light pink, quick fading head and no lace. The aroma is definitely sour cherry kriek. The cherry really pops, and the sourness isn’t really overbearing. The flavor is much more sour than the aroma leads on. The cherry comes through in a light, yet really great mixture through to the back end. The mouth feel is a little thin and syrupy with a minimal carbonation. The aftertaste is beautifully tart and cherry, and lingers nicely

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
375mL bottle at Grote Dorst, pours an opaque cloudy pink / ruby red with a small bubbly head. Nose brings out loads of intense cherries, signature Hanssens funk, and more cherries. Flavour is intensely funky for a fruit lambic. I’m sure some of the cherries have fade with age - not sure what year this is. Other than funk, there are smooth cherries that round out the palate. Mouthfeel is very smooth and restrained, nearly flat, since it is a kriekenlambik. Excellent stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of tart cherries, baby diapers, lemon, and a a touch of musty basement. It pours hazy orangish-red with a minimal pink head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet cherries. The finish turns to heavy sour lemons with a hint of vanilla. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Corked bottle. Poured a clear red color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate cherry yeasty aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and lively carbonation. Medium sweet & sour flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration. This beer met my expectations.
