2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is very sweet and alcoholic with dark fruit and caramel. The appearance is cloudy amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma and packs quite a punch both in alcohol and bitterness. The palate is average. Overall not one of my favorite barley wines but not bad.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2012 A clear deep chestnut amber brew, an off-white head, good lacing and some curtains.
Smelling of toffee, muffin batter, butter scotch, nuts and almonds. Some vanilla.
Starting with brown bread, brown sugar, syrup, dates, raisins, sherry, some bitter orange peel. Eggnog.
Medium carbonation, small bubbles, smooth, oily, sticky. A warm feeling (of alcohol), a big body.
A very sweet and warm barley wine. A real candy shot. Wonder how it will mature?
Bottle 330 ml. This was the 2010 vintage, 10% ABV.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml Bottle - Hazy copper with a small head. Marzipan, raisins, fruit cake, leather and malt in the aroma. Fruity, sweet and malty taste with notes of Christmas cake, spice, raisins, malt and nuts. Easy to drink, yet full of body. Its taste belies its ABV. I have another bottle of this in my ’cellar’ and look forward to seeing how it matures. It is certainly very enjoyable and impressive at this stage.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Stor kanske aning spritig doft med tydlig inslag av kola och frukt. Smaken är stor och tjock med en härlig känsla av tjära, lakrits och kola. Något kort eftersmak.

I feel like a worm in a tequila barrel, drunk and happy that I'm here. Barley wines are the future, you heard it here first.
