2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
[Draught SBWF, Stockholm]
Hazy amber colour. Strawberry juice aroma, along with cabbage and diacetyl. Pretty weird aroma in a Barley Wine if you ask me. Sweet, with dried fruits in favour with a smooth mouthfeel, and somewhat maltbitter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is very malty with the characteristic dry wine elements of the style. Taste is just a tad sweet with the malty alcoholic backbone so often seen. Interesting, but not my favorite sort of brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($3): 2009 bottle. Pours a brownish murk with a small head. Aroma is boozy, sugary, malty, and cakish. Taste is slightly boozy. Rather sweet. Mouthfeel is much lighter than expected. This ain’t that good of a barley wine. The extra years didn’t seem to mellow out the booze taste, but whatever, it was actually pretty easy to drink and that ain’t ever a bad thing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It poured a hazy dark golden liquid with a light brown foam that left some lacing. It had a strong smell with some warm alcohol. It felt round, thick and smooth in my mouth. Had a warm alcoholic finnish. Tasted of caramell, malt and fruity. Very nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(sampled draught at Stockholm Beer Festival) Cloudy dark amber with a generous, creamy beige foam. Very fruity aroma of melon, pear, flowers and grapefruit. Full, fruity flavour of oranges, lemon, floral hops and grapefruit with distint undertone of licorice. Creamy mouthfeel, well hidden alcohol. Long orangey aftertaste. Nice!
