Pitch black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Taste is strong roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with some bitterness. Very nice long, dry and roasted aftertaste. Full-bodied and quite smooth beer. Delicious imperial stout from Hantverksbryggeriet.

Pours completely black with a tiny, creamy, brown, film head. Sweet aroma, some fat maltiness, light smoke, coffee, nuts and dark chocolate. Medium carbonation, rather light for the style. Flavour is sweet at first, then fat chocolate and roasted malts before finishing in a wonderful, long, dry, bitter coffee note. Great!

Big dark brown head. Opaque black body goes dark brown at edges. Sugary milky cocoa and coffee aroma with toffee notes. Balanced and harmonic. Dry-sweet chocolatey roasty chocolate pudding taste with hoppy coffee notes. Some faint alcohol notes. Long dry-sweet aftertaste of the same. Lovely! Surprisingly light and drinkable. (Draught at Pikkulintu on 2008-06-15) Black. Medium-sized brown head. Coffee and roasted malts in nose. Full palate with some carbonation. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, liquorice and bitterness in taste. Long coffee-flavoured aftertaste. Very nice.

Draught at The Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg, Sweden. Almost black with a hint of red under a long-lasting, creamy beige head. Strong roasted notes with hints of chocolate and licorice. Sweetish and salty flavor. Smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle, Tegnérs Gömställe, Stockholm, Sweden. A dark brown, nearly black brew with a small, filmy light brown head. Roast and burnt fruit aromas, with some cocoa as well. Flavor has nice balance, low roast and hop bitterness. Silky and sweeter, with chocolate and cocoa flavors. Thin texture. A solid beer, but nothing very special.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small creamy tan head. Roasted malty dark fruit and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor with some hints of dark fruit. Roasted sweetish chocolate and coffee finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Near black colored with red hints. Little vanishing light brown head. Rich roasted caramelly aroma with some vanilla and creamy tone. Medium to full bodied. Flavor starts with port-vinous tone and mild vanilla roastiness, soft palate. Aftertaste lasts with this vanilla.

Black, small and thick brown head. Nose is dark chocolate, berries, coffee and burned malt. Quite sweet mildly port vinous and malty flavor, some chocolate also. Dry coffeeish finish with liquorice. Medium to full bodied, quite strong carbonation, could be a tad smoother. Great, not too thick imperial stout.
