3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (6042) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2007
Bottle, The Rover, Göteborg Pretty black pour, interesting tan head. Chocolate chips, rather powdery malt nose with a certain syrupy aspect to it. It got a pleasant toastiness above the roast and bears a fun underlying fruitiness (mostly grapes). Everything well placed, nothing exceptional. In mouth, it comes across rather fizzy, perhaps it was ont so from the tap. Geared towards chocolate, floury notes, but the sharp carbonation cuts the development short really and leaves us feeling sorry for the potential cereal suggestions that we felt coming. It has a default, but is otherwise a fine beer.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopscotch (8215) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 7, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2007 Bottle (was leaking just a bit when it arrived from Sweden)... Pitch black with a huge, rocky, beige head. Excellent retention. The wonderful aroma is a swirl of rich chocolate, caramel and vanilla. Lightly oxidized with notes of paperboard, but overall the nose was too great to penalize for a small leak. Chocolate, charcoal flavor. Medium bitter with just a hint of acidity. Medium-bodied and astringent with spritzy carbonation. Lengthy, burnt, bitter, chocolaty finish. Thanks a million to marsiblursi for shipping this bottle stateside!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MiP (12136) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2006
Draught. Citric paint aroma. Black colour, small brown head. Nice thick mouthfeel. The flavour is citric in much the same way as their other beers, but the flavour here is good. Very late roasted coffee flavour. OK level of alcohol. Roast barley bitterness in the aftertaste.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival 2006. Black color with thick foamy head. Apple, coffee and acetone in the aroma. Sweetish and thick palate with roasted flavors of coffee, dark chocolate and rye. Light bitterness. Finishes sweet, roasted and vinous. The aroma is a bit off but this is still a decent tropical-type stout.
