330 ml bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! 2010 vintage. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a huge, frothy, rocky tan head that laces the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, earth, roast, tobacco, and a bit of ash. The flavor is largely the same, with bitter dark chocolate, earth, tobacco, licorice, and coffee. Medium bodied, with a roasty, bitter mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Simple, good imperial stout.

Nice aroma of roasted malt, smoke, chocolate and sweet dark roasted coffee. The taste is mellow with a distinct flavor of roasted malt and chocolate followed by tangy fruit notes and hints of coffee. The aftertaste is tangy and fruity with light nuances of vanilla. A very nice beer!

330. Thanks, Rene, for sending once upon a time. This a fresh, legitimately imported bottle. Pours jet black with a towering burnt tan head that takes forever to get out of the way. Full points for the name, too, while we’re at it with the surface observations. Tangy, odd nose, showing soy sauce and a bit of prune. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Soy, prune, chocolate, and a bit of roast on the mid palate. Way too tangy to really come into balance as an impy. Mild finish.

Bread, molasses, and a little coffee in the aroma. Flavor starts sweet and malty, but finishes with some roast coffee bitterness and alcohol. First thing I’ve ever tried from this brewer--I will try to find more.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2013 Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours dark brown, Small head that dissolves quite quickly. Aroma has coffee, chocolate and roasted malt, some vanilla Taste has mostly roasted malt but also some coffee, vanilla and some salty notes. Quite a lot of carbonation and the body is to thin for a Imperial Stout imo. Quite long lasting bitter and roasted finish.

12 oz bottle. What an Imperial Stout from a brewery I did not know existed. Pitch black pour, mocha full head. Awesome full and spotty lacing. Aromas of raisins, dark fruit, chocolate, cofee beans. Tastes is silky roasted licorice with syrupy coffee. Finishes dry with warming in lower belly. Awesome Swedish imperial stout.
