3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Caramel, toffee, bread, and candy sugar in the aroma. Flavor is milder and smoother than I expected, with bread and a little roast coffee. Some roast coffee bitterness and smoke in the finish. Definitely not a typical Belgian ale, but still good.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle listed at 8.5%ABV pours a dark brown color with a 3 finger light beige head that retains well and leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild with some light fruits and earthy notes. Taste is better with a grainy malty sweetness with some fruits in there and a generous earthy hop bitterness and hints of yeast. Medium to heavy body with abundant carbonation. A nice tasting brew that is recommended.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($3): This bottle, which is called Abbey Ale (Klosterol seems to have the same meaning), has a listed abv of 8.5%, so I am not sure that this should be considered the same beer. In any case, it pours a brownish colour with very minimal head. Aroma is dark fruit and a wee bit of booze. Taste has some roasted malts in there. It is comparatively light for the relative size of the beer. This is an OK beer, but not a great Belgian Ale.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is earthy and even a tiny bit smokey with toffee, grass/leaves, dark fruit, and yeast. The appearance is deep amber/light brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a butter scotch finish. The palate is average. Overall not a favorite of mine.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Systembolaget.
Pours murky brown with almost no head.
Aroma has lots of raisins, malt, bread and some alcohol.
Taste is as above but with chocolate and some ash. Mouthfeel is a bit oily and the carbonation is low. Alcohol shines through a bit to much.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at CK thanks to Travlr. Clear reddish amber. Weak head. Nose is sticky twizzlers, pretzels, nuts. Taste is malt forward, cookie, full dark chocolate, nutty. Not bad. Low hoppy bitterness. Not so bad.
