Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Feb 1, 2008 courtesy of Per - cloudy red-amber colour with a firm creamy white head; nice lace; a solid fruity hoppiness with notes of apricot and litchies; robust and regular malt body, clean palate and with a late and powerful bitterness; dry and long fruity hoppy finish - a beautiful brew bark (255), Linköping, Sweden Oct 2, 2004 Updated: Feb 14, 2005On tap. The beige foam is extremely large and quite firm. The somewhat cloudy liquid is deep copper coloured.
The smell is very “alive”, and got flavours like yeast, soap, sweet malt and malt vinegar.
The carbonation is very low, as one could have expected from the high foam.
The taste is somewhat sourish, but very pleasant with a growing sweetness. The aftertaste got a fine, mild aftertaste with a bitter touch.
A good mild ale? Yes. An Extra Special Bitter? No... gnoff (2831), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 12, 2006 Draught at the Rover. New recipie with only German hops used. Cloudy brown appearance with a rich rocky, sticky tan coloured head. Dark chocolate, herbs, almonds and hops in aroma. Clean and rather strong flavour of sweet chocolate and spices. Drier and hoppier flavours in finish of black chocolate, herbs, wood and a small spicy alcoholic note. Dry, long chocolaty, grassy and woody finish
