Cask (Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2011) - marked as 5%
Slightly sickly aroma. Dark brown, no head. Liquoricey bite. Treacly, burnt aftertaste. Fairly tasty brew. Slips down easily for 5%.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 4 on 2 December 2010. More tawny than ruby. Some light berry fruit notes. Quite dry with a modicum of late bitterness. A pretty decent session beer - more interest than is often the case at this ABV.

Cask at London Brewers Showcase. Pours an opaque, ruby-black ih a bubbly head. Malty, fruit aroma. Quite a fruity flavor, too, and lightly sweet. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. There are some mild spices and dark malts in the finish. A tad thin overall.

Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Cask at the White Horse 40 from 40 Festival, 3rd May 2010. Reddish clear chestnut colour. Caramel malty nose and similar flavour. The finish is very short and the toffeeish flavours fade fast.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Southampton Arms.
Basic mid brown colour with a very thin off white head. Burnt caramel, very sweet, some leather and tobacco. Decent malt, nice bitter finish, well balanced all round. Well made, just not enough going on to get excited about.
