Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England

Light unclear medium amber orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light yeasty, apple, plastic. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20101203]

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 4 on 2 December 2010. Hazy amber colour. No condition. Thin collar of foam. Sweetish and a bit rubbery. Some chewy fruit. Rather a paucity of hops in evidence. Not too interesting. Didn’t seem in great nick to me. Flagged for re-rate.

Pigs Ear. I hate to be unkind to a brewer from my old stomping ground but this is a pretty awful beer. Hopefully just a wrong un. I recall seeing ’an aquired taste’ note stuck to the keg! Hazy amber beer, no head. Light dry palate. Lots of soap. A trace of orange buried under the soap. Wincingly awful!
