COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
HAPKIN has a very good fresh, flowery, Saaz hop aroma, a very big creamy head, a soft malt character, and a spritzy, perfumy fruitness drying toward the finish.

Note: Initially from Brouwerij Louwaege, from 2001 to 2007 brewed in Jumet, afterwards in Alken.

- Alcoholpercentage van 8,5% - Smakelijk biertje destijds gedronken - Complimenten aan de brouwerij- en brouwmeester - Nog geen topper, maar wel de hoge waardering die verdiend is ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours pale golden with a medium to big white, frothy head that lasts. The aroma is of fruits, spruces, grass and herbs. Very well balanced between medium sweet and light bitter. Lively carbonation. The alcohol is a bit too strongly apparent.

Bottle, 33cL. A pale golden yellow beer. Medium white head with a medium retention. Herbal and floral aroma, prune, spices, bread. Medium spicy sweet, light bitter. Medium body, silky texture, good carbonation, dry bitter finish with a warming background. Overall, delicious beer, balanced herbal bittersweet taste.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy blonde colored brew with an sweet bitter taste with an slightly dry ending, hints of fruitiness. On the "Duvel" scale, it lacks the sharpness buts Hapkin isn’t very bad compare to Duvel.

The "blonde bier" from the Houtland, taken over from Louwaege by Alken-Maes in 2001. Tasted in both the original Louwaege version as the later Alken-Maes version; the first was a bit dryer and had a more elegant and refined, herbally aromatic hoppiness to it. The current version is still a decent beer though, with big frothy head and orange blonde colour; fruity aroma, soapy, peaches, sweet apples, grass, faint hints of lavender and grapefruit; rounded palate with fruity sweetish taste in onset, smooth with relatively strong carbonation though not as strong as in Duvel, against which it is clearly positioned commercially, warming alcohol and flowery hops in the finish.

Een heel lekker bier met een uitgesproken, volle smaak. Echt een aanrader om eens te proberen.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl. Blonde belge classique, un peu trop sur le sucre candi. Finale sur la levure.

Pours clear gold with white head. Fresh fruity aroma, a bit pilsner-like hops. Taste is alternatingly bitter and sweet with some spice and a bit of fruityness. Ends dry. Very well balanced. Good!
