COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
HAPKIN has a very good fresh, flowery, Saaz hop aroma, a very big creamy head, a soft malt character, and a spritzy, perfumy fruitness drying toward the finish.

Note: Initially from Brouwerij Louwaege, from 2001 to 2007 brewed in Jumet, afterwards in Alken.

Blond with a big head. Slightly sweet hoppy fruity aroma. The taste is hop and hay. A nice well-balanced beer.

Golden color with a very light citrus smell. Spicy with a crip bite - honey and cinnamon. Intricate tastes in each drink. Quite drinkable for a strong ABV.

Gold color, medium head, Malty, spicy and yeasty, typical of a Belgian. Citrusy. Refreshing and very drinkable. High alcohol (8.5%) not really noticeable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Nice beer.

hazy medium gold color.Bubbles shoot up the middle of my Duvel glass.Medium bitterness, clean finish. Perhaps a little more hoppy than Duvel.

some faint apple aromas, welcome belgian yeastiness, slightly citric, light bodied and very drinkable despite the abv. Strength without being prominent.

Highly carbonated. Fat head, sinks quickly. Foggy golden blonde color.Malty tangy nose. Hoppy dry finish. Not the best BSA. But very drinkable.

Re-Rate 10/16/02: The pour a somewhat ’Hazy’ golden color, the head is white, modest in size, the lace in filmy sheets, to coat the glass. Nose is malt, citrus, light bubble gum tones, sweet. Front is malt sweet, the top is light, the finish intensely acidic, fairly well hopped, dry, and a nice ’Belly Warming’ from the high abv. Quite a decent drinking beer this bottle is 18 months old, and has improved with age. Ranks #499 on my current 1000 beer master list.

Clear golden color. At the start, huge amounts of foam. But it disappears within a couple of minutes, but doesn’t die totally. Small lacing remains. Spicy aroma, like a Duvel or a Piraat. Also spicy taste. Somewhat more sweetness in the aftertaste. Definitely not like a Duvel.

For a Belgian Ale, not one of the best exports they produce. Carbonation is way too high, to the point of distraction in the mouth. Could have been a bad bottle. Some fruitiness to the Aroma but not remarkable or memorable. Very little maltiness and a bit cloying after swallowed. A lot of residual sugars with a hint of pepper.

sits somewhere (in my head) between duvel and youngs special london ale. quite buttery and fruity - raisins, dates etc - and dry and spicy in the finish. smells of raisins and brandy.
