3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden ale. Thick white head, big bubbles.
Nose is dry, hop-bitter, spices, maybe medicinal.
Taste is quite dry, but underlying sweetness. Spicey, fruity, yeast.
Mouthfeel dominated by the dryness, not very full. No adstringency. Aftertaste consists of restrained bitterness, building up, without ever fully losing the sweet founding.
One of Belgiums' better Duvel challengers. With the takeover of Louwaege by ScotCourage, probably due for extinction. See also Thouroutenaere. This bottle BBd: 5/04

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I prefer this one above duvel.
The taste is more bitter, and there is less sweet honey taste.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This Belgian is ok. The high ABV not to strong. Somewhat bitter and spicy flavor.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Foggy blond colour with foamy, thin, white head. Heavy saaz aroma. Thin bodied. Dry hoppy flavour with some residual sweetness underneath.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I see I’m in the minority by not caring much for this beer. Alcohol shows through in a noticeable way. Crisp and somewhat unpleasant, like a Belgian blonde. Didn’t care for the spice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden and malty sweet with a little bit of apple and yeast. A nice drinkable belgian that has nothing that really stands out.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not bad. It’s got a lot of yeasty carbonation, and more bitter notes than most Belgian Blonde ales.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale, lightly clouded amber body, well carbonated with plenty of foam. Aroma is a little subdued, light fruitiness and a nose tingling peppery spice. Sweet apple taste, truning fruity and honey as it warms. Nice spicy, peppery finish, and just a little bitterness. Fruity sweetness develops as it warms, but makes a very good beer cold too.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
The head and hops, give this mellow beer the perfect compliment to fish and lemon.
