Goldorak (424), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 27, 2007 You’ve got to give credit to those belgians, they sure give good head! Really thick and clingy meringue that just would not quit, with a peachy yellow, not quite opaque brew underneath.
Yeasty, with sort of a lactic twang, and vegetal finish that reminded me of asparagus.
Really lively carbonation that seizes your tongue. Yeasty and quite boozy, especially in the aftertaste, that eventually became a bit much for me. It’s sort of a Duvel knockoff that left me lukewarm.
Borresteijn (543), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 18, 2008 Bottle in Bruges. Dark golden, big fluffy white head. Aroma of malts, fruits and alcohol. Flavour is fruity, malty. Like a sweet version of Duvel. BoBoChamp (660), Gent, Belgium Jul 19, 2008 33 cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, clear, big head, good brew, but not topper Ober (310), Best, Netherlands Jul 1, 2008 A hazy yellow/golden colored beer, with a huge white foamy head. The aroma is malty sweet, a little sour, flowery. The taste is full malty, with fruits like mango and some citrus. There is a small little sour taste. It has a long dry aftertaste. A good beer. azlondon (487), Greater London, England Jun 30, 2008 Appearance: Light yellow. Quite nice head, longlasting. Pretty fizzy. Lots of head later.
Aroma: Fruit and bit of malt. Lemon?
Taste: Hops and fruit. Bit of malt. Citric. Bitter.
Info: 330ml bottle, 13/1-2007, 132/500 heemer77 (3669), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 17, 2008 Thanks for sharing xnoxhatex. The body was deep yellow with a white head. The aroma was floral with some sweat and paper. The taste was sour with some pears and earthy sweat. There was cinnamon spice along with a buttery finish. Certainly interesting.
