3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This was my first Ethiopian beer. Harar is a cloudy yellow lager with strong smells of bread, yeast, and malt. The taste is relatively plain with a hint of sweetness, it can be characterized as medium bodied, with a full finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden pour with a touch of haziness. Nose is a little bit grassy with a clean, pale malt character. A touch of metallic character that I don’t care for at all. Despite that, the beer is actually pretty clean with a faint bitterness on the back of the palate. Pretty decent pale lager.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Light hazy yellow that has some sediment, with a thin white head that doesn’t last long at all. Almost hefe-like aromas and flavors at points with some lemon, hay, banana and a light sweet finish. Lightish body that has softer carbonation. Some sourness as well, and just OK drinking. Washed down some Ethiopian food pretty well.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Labilela Ethiopian Restaurant 11.2oz ($5): Pours a strange color for a pale lager: kins of hazy light peachy color with a fine white head. Lots of grain and maltiness in the aroma. Actually can taste some of them hops in this beer. Has some strange notes that I really can’t explain, but none of them are bad. Not a watery pale lager. For a pale lager it really ain’t that bad. Ethiopia is lucky to have this (better than the crap Egyptians need to drink).
