600ml bottle from Sainsburys - 4.8% ABV Dark straw with a loose fomay white head; grassy aroma; sweet corny taste; rather incipid ricey finish. Probably tastes better even colder.

That explains everything for I wondered why a beer from China would be at my little bottle shop in La Porte...it is an A-B product! Clean with a lasting head and surprisingly good lace on my pint glass. After that is was nothing more than your basic pale lager, corny and pale malt driven with just a hint of grassy hops. That said, OhioDad has it right, it is strange that a China lager is better than it’s own flagship beer.

Bottle Sainsburys. A nice clear golden colour. Starts sweet then has a touch of bitter at the end. Not much of a aroma. I though it was not that bad as other comments..

Bottle. Aroma is a little funky, but reminds of czech beer. Flavor is mediocre, but the beer on a whole is refreshing.

Bottle; poured an opaque gold. Aroma was skunky; with corn, floral and some malt. Good mouthfeel and palate. Flavor was of some corn, some hops, some malt, and corn. Refreshing; above average for the style.

One of the best Chinese beers. Far and away better than Tsingtao, Kingway or Pearl River. Mild taste, lightly sweet, but mostly just very watery. But surprisingly lacks the skunk-ee-ness of other Chinese beers (see: Tsingtao) and also lacks the offensive acrid aftertaste

Anaemic, lifeless gold. Halo of white. Sweet, slightly grassy snout. Inoffensive ricewater with a delicately bready/nutty malt ’character’. So slight it’s not even there. Severely lacking in presence or body. Fitting it should be distributed in Europe by the makers of Bud.
