(Bottle 33 cl) "Bjørnebryg" is the quintessence of Danish malt liquor. This is really THE beer to get pissed by if you’re a tramp - or a student. But it doesn’t really taste that horrible - at least not when it’s very cold. Minimal colour, minimal head, minimal aroma. Light bitterness and ditto sweetness - and a lot of alcohol. But as mentioned, not too bad. 171199

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Canned, by Harboe, Denmark) Quite hazy, orange-golden color with a small head. Aroma of sweet banana and other fruit, some vegetables and honey, plus a hint of alcohol. Actually the aroma is quite pleasant. Vegetable-malty flavor with sweet-honeyish alcohol present. Hides the ABV quite well, though. Medium-bodied, quite thick and smooth-carbonated, warming palate. A very positive surprise overall. Reasonably-bodied, hiding the ABV well, and even sharing many properties with Belgian tripels (without the yeast, though) and Finnish sahti. Not at all bad for a Danish strong lager!

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Too much alcohol in the flavour, very thin body, and not enough happening to hide the slight alcohol burn in the finish, sweet.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Golden, quite ok white head. Not much aroma, but some sweetness. Alcohol comes through in the flavor, sweet but not a very good beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is my number one cheap danish beer. At least this is the one I've drunken the most of... It is a quite strong, though, enjoyable brew. Very malty aroma combined with a slightly burned and nutty aroma. Slightly alcoholic with hints of caramel too. Nut-brown color with a amber shine and a medium head. Medium carbonation. Smooth start of hops and malt. Again caramel and some brown sugar in middle. Finish slightly bitter with a round malty prinkling feeling on the edge of the tongue. The palate is sparkling and round with a distinguish malty touch. Actually a quite underrated brew by my opinion.
