Can 330ml. @ home.

Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, toasted, metalic, malt extract. cheap malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, mistreated malt - like they want the last drop out of it, cheap malt, light peppery - alcohol. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20100711]

An amber beer with an OK but very fast disappearing head. It has a very faint slightly sour aroma (is that because of the brewing cereal used?). The taste is watery at first without much sweetness and ends in an OK but not great bitterness that lingers. I’ll recommend You to choose another Christmas brew.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a huge white head. Grainy and malty aroma, with that classic Harboe mouldyness beneath. Hoppy flavour, a bit sticking and dry blending into a slight more soft malt sweet flavour. Flavour has a minor herbalness to it. Stronger on the abv than the other offerings from Harboe, but other than that, there is very little Christmassy to this brew.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pale amber with a small head. Quite watery and sweet from the added sugar. NOT a nice Christmas-beer. 191199

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2007 Bottled. Pale amber, no head. Very vaguely caramelly, yet this is all this beer got going for it. Thin, hard and metallic with some boiled vegetables and a tinny finish. Yikes.

Bottle 33cl this christmas: Amber/gold with a off white bubbly head. Sweet aroma of malts - grain, bread & caramel. Light watery body. The 5,7 percentage of alcohol is actually easy to trace and that must be Harboe’s definition of a christmas brew!

Can. Clear golden colour. Very small white head. Thin lager flavour, not caramelly or sweet or anything that could be hoped for in a christmas beer. Low bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2011 Can. Amber, with an off-white head. Almost no carbonation. Malty and grainy aroma. Much the same in flavor, but the grains are more dominant here. Too sour. Sticky on the palate. Light bitter finish, but the grains follows you all through the beer. Why do danish breweries name their beers "julebryg", which means "christmas brew", when it really is a cheap lager? That’s a bad habit! Rating: 3-2-3-2-5-1.5. 061112

Bottle. Clear, golden body and small, dense, off-white head. Belgo-style sweet and fruity nose with banana, lemon, a hint of alcohol and some spiced hints. Full-bodied and well carbonated, with flavors of toffee, sugary sweetness, banana, lemon, a spiced herbal touch and a little alcohol warmth. Finishes as it starts. A quite nice one, definitely the same as I rated four years ago. Quite nice actually, I had to check the label to see if it’s the right beer I’m rating. 110122
