(Sample at Papsø’s) Pours a clear and very dark brown with rich, toffee head that laces the glass. Aroma is strongly dark grainy/cereal, which is gradually replaced by metallic notes as the brew heats up. Light body with soft carbonation and a long, sweet finish. Taste is strongly sweet, syrupy and unrefined.

Bottled. A deep red-brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of bread, malt, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of bread, caramel, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a very dark, clear brown bordering black with a reddish hue and a lacing beige head. Sweet roast and burned caramel with a coconut twist. Light body, sweet roast and molasses with a discreet touch of hops. Not your typical Hvidtøl but rather nice. 240811

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark bread, ryebread. Very dark brown color, small brown head. Very ryebready, wort, some smoke in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Very sweet. Lots of Bamberg-type smoke in the syrupy flavor! Just too much worts and sweetness.

Bottled. Deep rubyish brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is raisins, some smoked notes, some slight sweet raisins and mild notes of mash. Flavour is mash, slight smoked and ashy notes. Strangely enough it’s a quite balanced low alcoholic thing.
