Dose (50 cl) von Jenny Lou’s, Peking. - Tiefes Kastanienbraun, klar, beigefarbener Schaum.

In aroma chocolate, cocoa and alcohol. In taste a touch of chocolate and strong alcohol notes. Alcohol note is getting even stronger. Mouthfeel is very watery, over carbonated. It taste like a blend of strong lager and poor quality stout. It’s not a good beer.

Can alongside the others at Vystaviste. Shocking brews. This one came out Cola coloured. Aroma of chocolate, brown sugar and booze. Flavour is quite rich. Sweetness, alcohol, chocolate and fizz. Not totally rank it has to be said. What is this range all about though? 500ml cans of rocket fuel for the discerning drunkard.

500ml can BB Dec 2014. Dark reddy cola brown, big foamy head settles quickly. Aroma is yeasty, metallic, smoke and a general sense of pub. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is thin, malty, molasses, soft toffee, more like a bock than a stout. Not the best. Average at best.

Dark brown, little head. A watered down version of a stout, malts, coffee notes, but all quite well hidden beneath a watery taste. How would a friend put it "It’s like a stout, only different" ;-)

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish light brown head. Aroma of rich chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, earth and a decent amount of toffee and carmelised sugars. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavour at first with the earthy malt coming soon and then the caramel soon after, which somehow makes for a nice opening. Aftertaste shows more of a stout character with the roasted malt mellowed out by some chocolate and earth, but also of course some of the alcohol. Overall, a surprisingly decent beer - I was afraid at first, since some of their other beers are barely drinkable, but this one is actually remarkably decent - plus the cost is extremely right. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from City’Super in Harbour City, Kowloon, Hong Kong for just a measly HK$8,50 sampled in my hotel here in Wan Chai, Hong Kong on 03-July-2014.
