12oz bottle. Poured a clear brown-orange color. the head was two fingers high and light tan with decent retention. A bit of lace was left behind. The aroma was subdued overall with whiffs of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Carbonation was on the higher end of the spectrum. Light to medium bodied and on the dry side. The flavors were as subtle as the aromas. I tasted a bit of adhesive tape and some thin papery malt, but that was it. Non-offensive to those who don’t care about beer, but a bit offensive to me. Eh.

Jun 6, 2008 Mahogany is the best way to describe the colour of this beer. Like the colour of a walnut. touch of spice, otherwise plenty of caramel and nuts. well balanced, medium bodied, with a small head. Nice overall.

does not count  Mar 12, 2008 I poured half the bottle and watched the head consume the top half of my glass. Once settled, the flavor was similar to other brown ales, like Newcastle.

Sep 22, 2007 12oz bottle(5/01)-A dark ruby red body with w medium white head which dissipated rather quickly. Aroma of roasted malts and slight caramel. Taste of the same with some faint hops coming out. Not bad.

Aug 1, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Flanagan’s in Appleton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a creamy thin white head that dissolves to a fine film and ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, some flowery hops, roasted nuts and some caramel. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied with flavors of roasted nuts, caramel malt and some citrus. Finish is slightly watery and dry with a sweet caramel aftertaste.
