500ml bottle. Bronze with a scummy white foam. Annoying peach iced tea aroma; floral, peachy, a bit sickly. That same flavour without the hops to lay claim to IPA status. Sponge cake infused with peach air freshener; honey, orange Smartie notes. Would’ve loved this 5 years ago but I’m a fussy bugger these days and too into the hops. Pleasant enough but too watery, peachy and malt-sweet for me or the missus.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Some herbs combined with fine hops, decent dryness towards the end and some herbal moments. Classy and fine with balanced aromas and taste.

Bottle brought home from England. The beer pours out in a clear golden-light amber colour with airy low head and medium body. Aroma of fresh hops and herbs. Taste of fresh hops, pine, spruce, grapefruit, mild oranges, thyme, flowers and mild spices. Very quaffable and delicious to enjoy.

Bottle. Appearance- golden and fairly clear, solid 1-2 finger white head. Aroma- floral hops, hint of zesty fruit, some grapefruit. Taste- lemons, maltiness in the background, hoppy notes, lots of bitterness, medium mouthfeel but definitely clingy. Refreshing, nice.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours amber with a small head. Aroma has herbs and earthy pine. Flavour is orange and biscuity malt, but a touch watery.

Cask in the Champion W2. Golden colour, thin white foam. A pleasantly hoppy ale. Slight hint of syrupy oily mouthfeel. Bitter finish, hops are slightly floral, pine, fruit. Reasonably drinkable, being ’only’ 5% makes it just about ok for the pub, but packs in a decent amount of flavour.

Aroma: intense floral hops, some fruity notes, maybe some grapefruit. Appearance: clear dark gold, small white frothy head. Taste:light bitter. Palate:intense bitters, very hoppy, flowers, grass, getting very dry in the quite long finish. Overall: great "English IPA" / hoppy Golden Ale, nice intense hoppy aroma. Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Pimlico.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2014 Re - rate again on cask at the Haymarket. Much more tropical fruit going on in both nose and palate. Mango and papaya. Very enjoyable. Previous rating 23.06.14 = 7+3+6+4+13 =3.3 On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - dark amber with a decent head. Nose - lemon and grapefruit and some sweet bread notes. Taste - grapefruit mostly just a touch of elusive sweetness. Palate - light to medium bodied with a zingy texture and the long dry finish. Overall - solid but slightly unbalanced.

Cask. Somewhat plain hazy gold pour. Nice hoppy nose. Spruce, grass, wheat, citrusy bitter finish. Some bready character. Not a dramatic IPA, but quite solid.

Gravity at the Battersea Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear, deep golden colour, with a halo of white head. Big aroma of citrus hops, with tropical fruits and toasted malt. Grapefruit hop flavours, with nice biscuity malt base and juicy mango. Finish was nicely balanced pine hop bitterness, bready malt and tinned fruit.
