allfreej (295), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Dec 17, 2005 On tap at the Hard Times Chili Parlor on King Street in Alexandria. Pours golden with a small, off-white head. Malty aroma, with a nicely balanced malt flavor and a mildly hoppy finish. An excellent accompaniment to the establishment’s fine chilis, and it’s just $2.00 a pint from 5-7 pm. egajdzis (3021), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2004 Poured a golden color with a small white head. Aroma of toasted dough, sweet malts and light hops, dry. Lightly hopped, citrus, dry toasty qualities. Medium carbonation. ConiseurofBeer (241), Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA May 17, 2003 An excellent session beer. I buy this every week on free pint night. Which is every tuesday night, for anyone that wants to join me. (free pint glass) austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA May 5, 2003 As I drank this beer at the Victory brewpub, I found myself thinking: Geez, this is one terrific...pizza! For those who don't know, Victory makes incredible brick oven pizzas. Oh, turning to the beer. For once, Victory Brewing demonstrates that they don't have to overhop each and every beer they make. This lager is much less-bittered than their All-Malt Lager and is a session lager. Forget their horrible Milltown Mild, this Hard Times Lager is the thing to drink in quantity. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 7, 2003 Dark golden, clear ... an alcohol-malt aroma. Smooth. Very malty flavor with a sense of alcohol even though it's not that strong.
