Bottle 434 of 540 from A Tutta Birra, Milan, bb 19 Sept 2013
Pretty dark color, with brownish compact head. Mild aroma, some roasted malt, and some sourness; bit of alcohol. Slim body, with moderate roasted malt flavor and some sourness; very light smoke; no evidence of whiskey flavors; the roasted malt contributes to the bitterness, which is not strong. Maybe a trace of whiskey in the end.
Quite odd and unexpected; not exciting.

11/9/11/9//11

Opaque black beer, good tan head. Crispy semi dry palate. Lots of minerals. Tangy dark malt. Sourish mild whisky. Trace of candy fruits. Very similar to Lambda but the whisky is more sour.

Colore nero, poca schiuma evanescente. Al naso cioccolato, vaniglia, caffč, malto. Nel palato sapida, con sentori di liquirizia e note fruttate. Buona aciditą.

BeerViking (2579) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 24, 2012
330ml bottle, pours black with a coffee crema, vanilla, peach, treacle toffee and wood on the nose, an initial dry lemony tartness on the tongue is followed by coffee and a sort of tart peach note with hints of strawberry and plain chocolate. The finish brings treacle toffee and lemon back, sliding into an unusual dry smoky fruit character. Perhaps it’s not ’style’ for an Imperial Stout, but it’s fascinating stuff.

Bottle from Vino’s. A black beer with a thin tan head that dies away after a little while. A really interesting vegetal nose with whiskey, capsicum and lemon. Some woody notes also, reminiscent of a tequila cask finish. A similar sour flavour upfront with lemon, roasty malt, whiskey and bitter cacao nibs in the finish. Mild carbonation, an oily mouth-feel and light CO2 prickle. Really interesting.
