3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 330ml from Booth’s in Kendal, Cumbria. Ruby brown with off white head. Not the full chocolate malt bitterness of many BIPA’s I would suggest, this has quite a sweetish, medium roasted body, biscuit malt, some crispness leading to a fruity hop flavour, a hint of pineapple, some citrus. Doesn’t hit the major heights but it’s a decent beer and worth a second glance.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, very dark brown. Huge, frothy tan head. Ever so slightly vegetal, dark maltiness. Hint of dark fruit. Taste is much the same. Hop bitterness kicks in at the end. Overly carbonated. Would like to try this when brewery fresh. Would possibly be a stunner on cask?

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, at Cardinal. It’s an almost clear one, dark brown in colorand with a dense, two-finger beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is lighlty roasted, with piney and citrusy ops. Some coffee notes. Bitter, roasted flavor with a touch of coffee, and the hops doing a mans job. Quite effervescent on the palate, medium to full-bodied and dryish. Lasting bitterness with a roasted touch. A nice one, but nothing special going on. 131019

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle. BB 07/2015. From alesbymail.co.uk.
Clear dark reddish brown colour with a ridiculously big foamy light tan head. It takes an hour to pour this... it’s extremely foamy...
The aroma is quite nice... there’s sweetish biscuity malt, mild roasted malt, salty liquorice, grassy hops and some dryness. The flavour is grassy hops, mild bitterness, dryness, mildly roasted malt and liquorice. Quite middle of the road Black IPA. Not bad by any means.
