On cask at the White horse, poured a dark golden color with small head and some lacing. Smells of slight pine, wood, tropical fruit juice, but none of this is all that potent, a bit subdued and not to the beer’s credit. Taste is simialr with the addition of cereal graininess that kind of "Blanded" it down for me. Palate is medium, beer was decent and refreshing, nothing to write home about.

Cask, 1/2 pint, hand-pulled at Bon Accord, Glasgow on 8 Aug 2016, grassy, grapefruit aroma, golden amber with a thin bubbly off-white head and no lacing, grapefruit, resiny, oily, moderately bitter hop finish.

Bottle. Very lively upon opening but soon subdued itself.Bitter with a reasonable medium body. A pleasant session bitter but that’s about all it is.

Clear golden, light sweet lemon smell. Tangy fruit taste. A touch of hop but it’s mostly the fruit which gets a touch sickly.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy amber coloured beer with a strong bubbly head and a fizzy bubbly body. The aroma is dry with gently yeastiness, and the flavour is very dry and hopped with yeastiness. Overall a reasonable well hopped and very dry tasting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A fresh tasting hoppy bitter, not one of hardnott’s best, but a decent post walk glugger

Bottled (backlog). Hazy orangeish amber colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, nectary and mildly honeyish with some bready and toffeeish malts as well. Flavour is very similar in a good balance. Quite sweet overall, but also has a nice mellow bitterness to it.

Bottle from Open All Hours in Keswick. Pours hazy amber with big frothy off white head. Interesting - this bottle must have either got infected or is mislabled. The taste is sharp with lots of sour citrus. Reminiscent of a geuze. Certainly not a robust session bitter and probably better for it. A little bit thin, but light and refreshing and pretty good. I’d be interested to try this again to see what it’s supposed to be like.

Bottle from Beer52. Slightly opaque amber with a big foamy head. Light citrus aroma. Citrus light bitter, zesty. Pretty average overall.

Bottled, 330ml from Tebay Services, Orton, Cumbria. Gold to amber with white head. Initially this proved to be a zesty, grapefruit hop laden beer, crisp. As I drank through it a twangy, sourish, boiled vegetable note appeared, not enough to detract too much from the beer but it has reduced the mark. Slightly flabby finish but the start was great.

Cask & bottle conditioned; Regular. We could tell you it’s a black IPA, and if we did we would be letting you into a great secret. But as you don’t believe in black IPA, you can just pass over this beer and move back to your dark mild as after all, black beer shouldn’t taste this good. ---Rated BY Italianbeer85
