UPDATED: JUN 19, 2013 Tan/dark toast coloured pillowy head. Noses strongly of roasted malt, liquoris and sweet malt. Pitch black - a light swallower!!! Slick texture, very low CO2, a bit oily/mild and full bodied. Lovely balanced and the theme continues. Light dry on the palate and chewy. Finish is long persistent but not impertinent.

Strong dark notes and some bitter fruit - plums aged in whisky maybe. Nose is gentle spice and treacle and tobacco notes. Some zesty notes from the hops add balance. Finish is long and bitter. Ok.

Aroma di malti tostati con lieve influenze luppolate che ricordano i frutti tropicali. Al palato mediamente carbonata, con note di caffè amaro e un leggero tocco di liquirizia. Il tutto è strutturato su un buon amaro luppolato che la rende molto rinfrescante.

Clear dark brown beer, decent light brown head. Dry palate, a little soft but with a carbonated bite. Dry dark malt that has a coffee trace and a whisper of chocolate. Trace of bubblegum estery sweetness. Mild tangy orange and red berry fruits at the end. There is even a little melon! Dry finish. Not bad at all.

Dark brown almost black with a thick creamy lasting large beige head. Smells of deep roasted malt, chocolate, wood, dry fruit (raisins, prunes) and spices like cinnamon. Rich medium oily body with soft to no carbonation. Nice soft sweetness or fruit, licorice, bitter chocolate roast wit h a roast dry smoky coffee finish.

Bottle at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 30/09/12. Pitch black with a big dirty mocha head - this really looks the part ! Roast malts, molasses and licqourice dominate the nose. Tastes of dry roasted malts, a little coffee and licqourice. Medium bodied but with a touch too much of spritzy carbonation, the only minor let down of an otherwise decent stout.

(Cask @Rake bar, London) pours black with a tan head and good lacing. Malty, roasted smoky taste and medium body. Nice stout this.

Colore ebano con una schiuma abbondante e persistente. Aroma di malti tostati, caffè e spezie. In bocca carbonatazione troppo alta per essere una stout. Al gusto malti torrefatti, cioccolato, caramello, caffè. 

Bottle wi Ben. Dark brown with thick, fizzy tan head. The beer was overcarbonated. Quite gaseous. There was light chocolate and light coffe. Pretty nice all in all. Especially based on the ABV.

From bottle. Pours black with big brown head. Slightly fruity sherbet aroma, some chocolate. Taste is quite roastly, little chocolate and coffee, some fruitiness. Fizzy with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad, might be better out a cask
