From bottle. Pours black with big brown head. Slightly fruity sherbet aroma, some chocolate. Taste is quite roastly, little chocolate and coffee, some fruitiness. Fizzy with a slightly bitter finish. Not bad, might be better out a cask

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A deep chocolate brown colour with a ring of tan head; rich chocolate malt aroma; dry spicy malt taste with a well balanced bitterness; and a spicy caramel finish.

Bottle at Bolime tasting 3/2016. Unfortunately this soured and nothing is left of the deScriptors in commercial deScription. Not entirely bad, but not great either - just another unintentional sour.

A perfectly decent session style stout, with good roast flavours, and a clean finish

jamestulloch (3287) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 10, 2015
Bottle. Brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, plum and dumpling. Flavour of peppercorns, chocolate limes, cherry, green pepper and Blackjacks. Thin body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. A cracking beer - complex beyond its ABV. Hardknott are an incredibly underrated brewery.

gegwilson (3033) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2015
Bottle from Open All Hours in Keswick. Pours deep mahogany with a good frothy cream head. Light cocoa aroma. The taste is moderately spicy at first before bitter dark chocolate and black fruits. Some liquorice too. The body is pretty light with quite high carbonation. OK.

Bottle. Sensoric. Deep black with light brown, densed, medium to big head. Nice black fruits aroma - just like cherries in chocolate. Taste is fruity, slightly sour with dark chocolate accents. If you like dark fruita and chocolate go for it.

ForlornHope (377) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - AUG 11, 2015
33 CL bottle conditioned at home. Pours black in colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins and peppery hop. Taste is slightly sweet to start, then bitter and dry. Flavours of chocolate, dark fruits and a slightly sour, lactic edge which is interesting, even if unintentional? The finish is slightly thin. Overall an interesting beer.
