Mogano. Con abbondante schiuma cremosa. Aroma di caramello, vaniglia, malto, caffè, prugne. Nel palato dolciastra, con un amaro percettibile e acidità moderata. Alla lunga stancante.

Bottle 662 of 876 from A Tutta Birra, Milan; bb 24/10/2016, 1½ years old
Dark brown color with generous creamy head. Aroma of caramel, with light fruitiness, and old wood. Correct body strength; the mouthfeel is very smooth; the flavor is basically caramel, with notes of dark fruits, and quite evident alcohol; the sweetness level is moderate to low; correct bitterness; there is a light nutty touch in the end.
Good, different from most English Barley Wines, although not too exciting.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel & raisin, very inviting. Pours a dark brown with a frothy tan head. Mostly sweet, with only slight bitterness. Full body with a thick, sticky texture. Soft carbonation, with a nice warming finish. Overall a very nice barley wine with flavors of dark fruit, plum, and raisin.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty dark fruit aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit finish.

Bottle at home. Rich fruit, milk chocolate, coffee, cola, gentle carbonation, sweet plums, digestive biscuit malt. warming finish. Nice drop which I preferred to the 2010.

Bottle. Black with a thin beige foam. Aromas are coffee and molasses with raisins and Xmas pudding. Nutty alcohol with dark berries and a light smokiness. Floral notes with spices. Flavours are sweet molasses with dark chocolate and vinous and plummy fruits. Woody with a spicy, boozy finish. Good.

In bottle from Vino Wines. Pours a very dark brown colour with a decent tan head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, marzipan and alcohol. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a chewy mouth-feel. Mildly bitter with light pickled onion sourness also. Lovely lingering roasty malt, espresso coffee and chocolate with fairly prominent alcohol. This is very nice.

[ Bottle #52 of 876 ]. Clear light dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, sweet caramel, sweet dark malt, light wood - smoke. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120419]

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear reddish brown - offwhite head. Barley, sweetness, high sweetness, wooden, toasted, herbal, nutty, nice hoppy, spicy notes, licorice, dried fruits, earthy. Alcoholic.
