COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned. Has been seen in cask.
This IPA is not particularly Pale. In fact it’s a deep ruby red. Based on a modern American style beer from Oregon using Cascade and Centennial hops in appropriate proportions, for bittering, aroma and dry hopping balanced with a strong Crystal malt backbone.

My Bottom Line :
Toasted malts and leafy hop resins are diversified by light chocolate and chestnut accents.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam tops the misty amber-hued red.
-Mouthfeel is well fed; not too lean, not heavy.
-Effervescence is cuddly and soft.
-Hops also build herbal connotations.

Bottle.

Deep dark red in the glass with a good size head. Smells lightly of citrus fruits. Taste is grapefruit and bitterness with floral perfume. A very drinkable and pleasant ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16/05/2012 Open Baladin Roma (cask). Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Così così.

500ml bottle from Tomlinsons. Aroma: Top Hop-tastic, sharp, just like a bunch of malts have been almost roasted and not quite toasted. Look: Stunning creamy head during the pour, nice caramac type colour. Taste: BAWOWZA - first gulp is full-on bitterness, full bodied, sweet malty. Scrumptious.

Cask at the PSBH, 1st May 2012. Not bad, different red IPA, liked it, quite hoppy and a little boozy on the aftertaste. would not rush to buy a load, but I have high and spoiled tastes

Pours chestnut, with ruby highlights. Aroma is tangerines and pine, some nuttiness - very nice. Flavours are big and punchy, more of that tangerine and strong hop bitterness, but with a rich malt and licorice backbone that makes this a wonderful beer indeed.

0.5l bottle from myBrewerytap. This is a light blurry chestnut-ruby beer with a nice medium sized lasting beige head that stick around. The aroma has caramel-sweetness, notes of both chocolate paper mixed with licorice and a subtle hoppy touch as well. Nice. It has a good hoppy bitterness all the way. Much more bitter hops than aroma hops here. Some nice toffee, malty and nutty tones as well. Well balanced between sweet and bitter. Hints of some dark berries in the finish. Yeah, quite nice! 18.02.2012

Not to be confused with an amber ale - which is what my local beer merchant did, which is why i bought it, maybe that’s my fault, did it matter? no it didn’t, shit’s tasty. OK, I’ll shut up now.

Orangey red...hazy..off white frothy head...reasonable lacing
Aroma - Spicy hops..light grassy hops..nutty...sweet malt background..very malty aroma...fruity background
Taste - Grassy hops..nutty...citrus hops in the background..some caramel malts...odd but interesting flavour...I like it..then I don’t...then I do...
Finish - Complex bitter hops....grassy bitter nut citrus finish...cleans well
Overall - It’s a well made beer with an unusual strong hoppy flavour. To be honest I’m not mad keen on this but I would have it again...there is a lot of interesting flavours in there
