3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 brownyonder (266) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 5, 2012
Slightly murky dark copper colour with good off white head. Masses of carbonation which last for ages. Hoppy aroma. The flavour has more malt than hops for an IPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 McNeillR (249) - SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2012
Hectic figgy nose with a well armed woody head. The name is in the body, very stern bubbles dice with a clear but almost wine red clarity. There’s an almost dirty home brew murk to the outlined hops that brushes the zing on the palate to one side very quickly. Again, another super effort from an excellent outfit. (Bottle, Vip, Edinburgh)
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BenH (1335) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 22, 2012
From a bottle. Looks great, ruby red/amber with tight beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, dried fruit, caramel, smells more like a Belgian ale. Taste is similar, some fruitiness, hint of chocolate, perfectly acceptable and balanced but not really what I’m looking for in either an amber ale(which it is) or an ipa(which it isn’t), some hops present but not enough for me, quite estery with an almost spicy yeast thing going on. Moderately bitter finish. Quite original and no real flaws, just not for me.

Cask, The Sheffield Tap, Sheffield. Medium amber with a red hue. Fresh aroma, bright hops balanced with sweet caramel. Bitter and milky on the first sip. Brown sugar and soy dominate the palette. Finish is mellow with sweetness emerging.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6960) - London, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2011
Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours dark, amber-red with a tight, creamy cap. Aroma holds subtle, resinous pine and herbs, light earth and caramel. Flavor is sweet with warm bread notes, toffee and caramel, pine, grapefruit, some ripe berries. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Sticky, resinous bitter finish, toasty malts and sugar, further caramel and toffee, and lasting pine. Very solid beer.

Bottle one year old - not aged well. Nose us all hop resin which comes through in the taste. Not overly bitter but too grassy stale hops flavour for my liking.
