This IPA is not particularly Pale. In fact it’s a deep ruby red. Based on a modern American style beer from Oregon using Cascade and Centennial hops in appropriate proportions, for bittering, aroma and dry hopping balanced with a strong Crystal malt backbone.

Keg in the Pleased to Meet You in Newcastle. Poured a slightly murky ruby with a slight white head. Quite fruity at first before a very bitter finish. I love a big bitter IPA, but the finish on this on was bitter in a slightly unpleasant way.

Bottle. It pours a huge, semi-rocky light beige head over a clear, amber colored body. The aroma has a faint puke-like caramel maltyness, with resiny hops and citrus notes. It’s medium to full-bodied with, strangely enough, some warmth. Pleasant carbonation. The flavor has some caramel maltyness, a little sweetness and a balancing bitterness. Pine cones and some resins. Lasting finish with a little bitterness the most evident. A decent one, but far, far from impressive. 140315

Bottle at worldbeertaste’s temporary leaving The Hague tasting. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is citrus light hop. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big dry hop liqourice bitter yeast grapefruit citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A very decent beer and packed full of flavour. Deserves the rating.

Pours dark red with fluffy off white head. Nice lacing. Head stays. Looks great. Big toffee on nose, huge malt presence. This overpowers the hops which are floral, grass, spruce and strawberry. Flavour is sweet heavy malt. Body is full. Nice lifting bitter hit which with the amount of malt gives a tangy hit on finish. No hint of water or alcohol. All managed well. Nice red (ipa)

Pours with an ultra frothy head, great hoppy bitterness, which is balanced out by quite a sweet fruity flavour. Tasty .

33 cl bottle.
Pours clear dark mahogany-red color with a large head. Aroma is very hoppy and crisp, resin, some caramel malts, citric fruits and gooseberry bush. Flavor is citric with fruits, mild caramel malts, again lots of resinous hops and gooseberries on the finish. There is sadly some weird strawberry-like off-note that ruins the show a bit. Bitter fruity palate, a bit harsh tangy feel to it even, lingering malty finish. Nice despite the off-flavors.
