2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Sainsburys. Was really looking forward to this, so imagine my disappointment when I opened the bottle (after a long, shitty day at work!) and the contents erupted all over the kitchen worktop, floor and sink. Iíve been left with a centimetre of headless murky amber beer, with loads of "floaters", cant say Iím looking forward to this! Certainly smells ok, well hopped! This is also the case on the palate, the 6.2% is also noticable. Quite nice, shame about the disastrous start. Thereís nothing on the label to suggest this is bottle conditioned, and it doesnít seem to be infected as the "floaters" have now all sunk to the bottom, so I guess this was one of the last bottles out of the vat! Nice beer, but not impressed!
...... a couple of hours later and Iíve just been on the brewery website and it IS bottle conditioned, they just dont say it on the label!!
.......Iíve just re-read the description above and the first line says "bottle conditioned" !!! Well Done Gavin!!

Interesante cruce entre estilos "rojos" con un algo de UK, mucho de IPA USA y un toquecillo como a roja belga. Distinta, muy perfumada y redonda. Cayeron dos botellas.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Sainsburys, Watford. Exploded when opened and sadly half the contents ended up on the table/ floor. What was left poured a clear, deep amber, with a dense off white head. Aroma of berries, pine and burnt sugar. Resinous hop flavours, with some tinned fruit and grapefruit. Finish was caramel, aniseed and bitter spruce-like hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
At el Raval l de Andorra. Nice honey/copper color with cream beige head. Great balance with some hoppyness and bitterness but still very smooth and easy to drink. Great palate too, just bubbly enough but yet very soft.
A new favorite maybe?

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the mondiale 2014. Amber pour, small off white head. Big cereal aroma, breads, slight roast and some nuts with a touch of herbal hops. The finish is lightly bitter, and quite malty, but the malts are light. Nothing is over powering,,its all quite subtle from the bready, lightly toasted malts to the herbacious, grassy hops. A great balance of subtle flavours.

Cask at Tweedies Bar, Grasmere. Deep amber with a thick yellowy-beige head. Big floral and pine aromas and flavours all the way through but with a good balancing sweet malt behind. Dry finish. Great beer.
