Fruity, hoppy aromas lead to a well-balanced middle with hops increasing in the finish.

Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of straw, a little light biscuity malt, some lemon and herbal hops. Taste of straw, light biscuity malts, a little lemon, subtle grapefruit, a hint of yeast and some herbal hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A short, dry, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A nice, pleasant, well balanced golden ale. Lacks a bit of hop bitterness but otherwise sessionable.

Cask. Gravity dispense. The Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford, 17/3/2016. Golden appearance with white lacing. Aroma of straw, hey, spruce and toffee caramel. Taste is caramel, toffee, lemon drops, soft malts, herbs and spices. A peppery and spicy finish. Clean but traditional. The CAMRA crew will enjoy this!

Cask at The Bishop Langley, Durham, £3.10/pint. Very pale amber beer with a thin, smooth, white head. Slightly sweet, malty nose with hay and caramel detectable. I found the taste a little unpleasant, with dirty, skunky off-flavours and an overbearing grassy character. I may have found it in not good condition but it wasn’t one I enjoyed.

Cask, Peterborough Beer Festival 2015. Pale gold with a bubbly head. Cereal grain with melon and low lemon. Spritzy yeast with grassy notes. Decent if a bit watery.

September 12, 2014 - at Craft Clerkenwell; handpull. Clear slightly brassy gold with minimal white head. Simple aroma - grassy with some catty pungency - ehh (6-). Taste follows, a little more bitterness, but quite light all round (7-). A bit watery, mild at best carbonation with a little fringe acidity - surprisingly longer burnt-bitter grassy finish than I expected; a touch harsh, and a little too thin.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2015 Cask at Hardknott on Track, Millom. Light yellow, very lightly carbonated with some lacing. Light citrus/floral aroma, inconsequential but certainly pleasant. Taste is mostly bitter, with a notable floral sweetness later on. Finish is notably but not sharply bitter. A good beer but everything is a trifle muted. Tastes less strong than 3.8%. Too gentle to be great, but it’s a good place to start.

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Festival ’15. Gold with white head. There is a crisp, biscuity malt body to this carrying a hoppy, citric hop flavour. Zesty and easy on the palate. A pretty decent beer.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 12th September 2014. Pale gold with thin white head and scant lacing. Yeasty citrus aroma. Fine narrow note of grapefruit citrus in liquid with spices and solid malts. Malty finish with citric tang and rear-mouth bitter echo. A full engaging mouthfeel.
