Beese (2560) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2014
Draught at The Euston Tap, London on 26 Aug 2012. Poured a murky, brown, with a halo of off white head. Aroma was really lacking on this one, some slightly sour fruit, spice and black cherry. Initial flavours of treacle and tinned fruit are succeeded by bitter hop resin. Finish was pine, some esters and citrus peal.

330ml bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett - Slightly hazy orangey amber body with a fluffy lasting white head. Nose is heavy on the hops alongside some fruit, sweet malt, yeast and booze.Nice robust mouthfeel with an estery fruit, lightly sweet finish. Not bad at all.

bottle from mondial 2014, mtl. unclear golden orange with a very small off-white cap, little retention. sweet toasted candied maltiness, honey, butter, sweet caramel, fruitiness - off-peaches, bitter herbs, grass. moderate to low carbonation - lacking, light to medium body - oily, sweetish and a bit bland grassy-spicy-citrusy finish. blah.

Pour is caramel colored with no head and no lace. Nose is of caramel, syrup and a little fruits. Taste is sweet and fruity, not really bitter. This is a double IPA?! No way... Mouthfeel is really oily, carbonation low. Maybe this is good on the other side of the pond but here it is weak at best.

Bottle conditioned. Tight medium cream-coloured head. Fizzy hazy amber body. Nose is resin, spice, citrus, pepper, lemon, tangerine, alcohol, must, armpit sweat, tobacco, earth, some grapefruit. Bitter and tangy. Some sourness. Long bitter finish. Well carbonated.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. The blurb on the front of the bottle has changed. Don’t know if the contents have? Any road, this is sticky. Loads of toffee. Ripe, on the turn, fruitiness. Lots of sweet. Not enough zesty bitterness for me. If I saw this on keg, I’d pounce on it. It just needs freshening up a bit.

Appearance: Hazy amber/copper with cm thick ivory head. Aroma: Lemon, lime, raisin, hint of cherry, biscuit, bread dough, slight marzipan note and hay, possibly rye. Taste: Medium/high bitterness, medium sweetness with low sourness. Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium body, average carbonation, abrupt dry, marmalade, citrus malty fruity finish with an alcohol warmth. Comments: Tasty.
