Cask at The Counting House Leicester. Reddy brown colour, not much aroma, easy drinking with a little bitterness to end. Pleasant enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(cask @ the Crown , Rochester). Had this at Dickens festival yestetrday thus this beer came out of retirement and wasn’t bad as far as gimicky Christmas ales go. I was sure this was spiced ,but maybe i was just trying to get with the spirit but this has a very fruity spice finish but apparently no spices used . Otherwise lots of butterscotch, caramel malts and those kinda customary textures.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2007 Cask handpumped - Cambridge UK Dec 2006. One of the (only slightly) better industrial British brews I sampled there. Deep ruby-brown, with slight head diminishing fast. Some slight malt, hint of hops and fruit. Watery body, but at least this one had a little taste!

Cask (handpump) at The Old Monk, Westminster. A ruby red coloured winter warmer with some tart, old ale character on the finish. Mainly light caramel malt and sharp, juicy berry fruit with hints of Christmas cake. Some bitterness. Rather dull mouthfeel with some woody, musty touches. Have we seen the last of this beer?

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street JDW. Pretty awful to be honest. Unpleasant right from the off. Reminds me of a gents toilet. It’s so awful I just couldn’t find anything to say about it. Yuk.

Cask conditioned @ The Cutty Sark, Greenwich. Malty caramel. Quite sweet without accompanying hops. On the boring side.

Deep crimson colour. Sticky, spiced and full of clovers. Just shows how behind I am on my ratings, this is from Christmas 2004.
