Sampled on draft at the Full disclosure: I usually prefer the base beers over their barrel aged counterparts. This one however, was different. I thought the very faint vanilla and bourbony character actually added something pleasant to base beer. The sweetness is toned down a bit, and the crisp lemony character is muted. Pretty good, and not overly drenched in bourbon.

Pours a hazy hay like the normal Singel, but right off the bat you get a nose full of bourbon and then you take a sip (oh do only sip this beer) and it’s like slightly sweet, carbonated bourbon. If you know what you’re in for, and maybe on a nice warm day, this would be great. But know that you’re definitely in for more bourbon than beer here.
