4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Received in a trade with a generous BA. Beer has piqued my interest for awhile, I’m really happy to be finally giving this a try. Pours a pitch black in color with some brown hues around the edge of the glass. Nose is gingerbread, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice. Normally I think the nose would be taken over with spices in this beer, but the gingerbread is holding strong. It’s prominent and pleasant. Taste is dry gingerbread, it’s not overpowering, but it’s gentle and pleasant. There is the aforementioned spice and chocolate and just a little coffee. Moderate mouthfeel, light to moderate carbonation, and a long finish. This is exactly what I was hoping for. When I heard the description, I didn’t think it would live up to the flavor, but it surpassed my expectations. This would be an excellent holiday sipper at thanksgiving or Christmas.

Pours a bunrt umber color with two fingers of eggshell. Lots of gingerbread both on nose and palate but its true ginger spice and not some artificial sweet ginger... earthy molasses, spiced ginger, pepper, medium roasted malt, walnut bitterness. Nice and earthy but the body is a touch thinner than I expected... heavy carbonation keep it lighter on the mouthfeel than expected but a well done beer for sure !

Thanks to erzengel for sharing! Pours super dark brown with a orange highlights. The smell is molasses, ginger, dark fruit. The taste is ginger, sweet dark malt, licorice, dark fruit with a spicy/dry ending. Medium/full in body with nice slickness while the carbonation is soft and creamy. This isn’t really my type of beer but I have to admit that it is well done.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hardywood gingerbread stout shared at RBWG-2014
Slight harshness/burn from the ginger.
Aroma is balanced, with a moderate dose of ginger.
The ginger is way more pronounced in the mouth. I did adjust as I drank but it still seemed a bit overdone even at the end.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at RBWG grand tasting! Pours a deep brownish black with thin tan head. Aroma of ginger, lots of it, a hint of sweet malt. Taste is more balanced, sweet like a gingerbread cookie, not really any roast though and a little thin for a stout. Alcohol is well hidden, never would have guessed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle generously shared by the Drake at the RBWG grand tasting. Loads of ginger in the nose. More sugary sweet malts in the flavor give it more of a cookie profile. It all comes together nicely.

Many thanks to my secret santa nimbleprop for this beer.
Dark in the glass with a great and creamy head. The beer starts smooth, intense and highly drinkable. Absolutely great mix between smooth and not-too-sweet malty body with great ginger-spices. The alcohol is not tastable. The aftertaste is long, smooth, velvet. Caramel, fudge. Nicely bitter in the aftertaste.
Absolutely great beer! --> 15/14/15/14
