Tap. Yellow with foamy white head. Smells like bubblegum lite. Almost had a hit of anise- balanced so its not sweet or hoppy- but a touch grainy. Light flavor, medium bodied edging up against creamy. Not my style.

On draft at Hardywood. Medium clear gold, nice head. Aroma is lightly peppery and of light pale malts. Flavor is essentially a match. Light bodied, with a hint of pepper and Belgian yeast driven spice. Star anise makes its presence felt far in the background - which I liked. A bit too light for me, but a nice session beer - seemed more summery than autumn in a lot of ways.

On draft at the brewery. Pours amberish without much head. Aroma is very peppery. Very light and refreshing yet full of flavor. I would like it more if the flavors came more from the beer and less from the added spices.

On draft at the brewery as Saison Rustica. They said it was brewed with peppercorns and star anise - and you can actually get the distinct notes of both! The spiciness of the peppercorns balances the star anise notes. Overall, a little fruity, a little floral. Refreshing and crisp, but with a slight sweetness. A tasty and interesting saison!
