COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our quest to brew the quintessential coffee beer began over a cupping with the coffee gurus from Richmond’s Lamplighter Roasting Company. Their Ethiopia Sidamo coffee was masterfully roasted to highlight the single origin bean’s bright, crisp body and distinctive blueberry undertones, making it harmonize beautifully with our Russian Imperial Stout. May this beer warm your spirits in these brisk winter months.

Draft at Brewery. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Notes of bourbon, coffee, and alcohol on the tongue. It’s a little thin on the tongue. Getting some malt as well as a bit of the coffee. Finishes fairly clean and it hides its alcohol we’ll. I hoped this one would be bigger.

750ml bottle thanks to RABinVA. Pours almost black with some thick head. Lots of malts in this, coffee definitely pulls through. Thinner than expected but quite nice.

Bottle shared by a kind soul at the Tampa Weekly Tasting. Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roasted malts, some coffee, some chicory, earth, and burnt coffee. Flavor is similar with roast, toast, some coffee, some chicory, and some black coffee. Medium in body and nice overall.

Bottle shared at the weekly Tampa tasting, poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, light coffee, some earth and a touch of caramel. Flavors follow suit, light bitter coffee grounds in aftertaste, a solid beer overall.

Sampled at the Hampton. Very dark brown. Coffee and fruot here. Spicy hops inderneath. A hop after taste that combines nicely with the fruit and coffee.

Aromas of coffee, forest, subtle floral, chicory, and faint stone fruit. Black with ruby highlights and a lasting, light tan head. Fruity, roasty, and dry. Medium bodied with good carbonation, and finishes with roasted coffee and fruity flavors.

Weak coffee nose. Mahogany, medium tan head, nice lacing. Distinct flavor of tootsie rolls, coffee overtones. Prunes at midpalate. Medium body. Nice balance, with an interplay between sweet and bitter.

Another gracious gift from Brad. The beer is dark black with a lasting, oily, beige head. The aroma brings coffee, butter cookies, chocolate, charred roast. The flavor is ok. Probably not fair having just tried a couple of Kopi Luwak Speedway Stouts. A bit chalky. Prominent coffee throughout, but the blend / balance seems a bit askew. Fun to try once, but not one I shall revisit.
