COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our quest to brew the quintessential coffee beer began over a cupping with the coffee gurus from Richmond’s Lamplighter Roasting Company. Their Ethiopia Sidamo coffee was masterfully roasted to highlight the single origin bean’s bright, crisp body and distinctive blueberry undertones, making it harmonize beautifully with our Russian Imperial Stout. May this beer warm your spirits in these brisk winter months.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of coffee, green coffee, ash, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, faint ash, bitter hop finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, the ash-note is a bit offputting, but it’s a decent beer.

Big bottle from friend. Served fridge chilled and in chalice. One finger tan head slowly dissipates. Little bit of lacing. Beer is very dark, close to black. moderate aroma of light roasted malts with some notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste is lighty bitter with a tad of sweetness midway. some light coffee and chocolates in the overall malty flavor. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Good texture but almost "foamy" flavor hinders true flavor. Overall a decent coffee stout, slightly disappointing coming from Hardywood.

Aroma caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasty, alcohol, vanilla, Appearance brown, tan foam, Taste medium sweetness, lightly bitter, Palate medium body, Overall a nice coffee taste but nothing that is wowing me. Still a nice beer that if it was the only coffee stout on the draft list I would suggest this beer to a friend.

Poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of big green pepper coffee and oxidation. Flavor similar, a bit watery, like stale coffee.

Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malts, coffee, dark fruit. Taste of dark roasted coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, drier finish.

Bottle share at kickbacks. Dark brown pour. Aromas of light coffee, slight green pepper but also dark fruit/berry background. Taste is semi sweet. Slight coffee finish but not really what I was expecting.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet coffee, chocolate and berry aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a medium complex sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

750 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, ccoffee, dark chocolate, some mild acidity, a hint of tart fruit, this bottle seems a touch old, my first sampling of this beer had more coffee and less off character, the rating is a blend of both.

Enjoyed at Freetail Bottleshare 2015... Dark black pour with beige head... Aroma of roasted malts, coffee... Big coffee notes, dark chocolate, medium bodied base stout highlights coffee well... Good beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Starts off a little over carbonated, but nothing a lot Of swirling can’t tame. Coffee is subdued, but the beer opens nicely to rich coffee and malt and Java notes. Not the best, but solid.
